A team sharing ideas around a table

The Bussco perspective

AI Principles & Ethics

Technology should expand what people can do. Not diminish what makes them human.

We believe AI can be a useful partner in building a business. Here is where we stand on its role in our work, our society and your trust.

People come first

The point is not to make people less necessary. It is to give them more room to think, create and do work that matters.

Judgment stays with you

AI can help you explore a direction. Your experience, values and responsibility belong in the decision.

Trust needs clarity

You deserve to understand what AI is helping with, what it knows and where a closer look is needed.

The future of work

A changing world. A human purpose.

AI is changing how we work, learn and create. It can make expertise easier to reach and give a small team possibilities that once required much more time and money. We see real opportunity in that.

But change is not automatically progress. Jobs will change, some will be displaced, and access to these tools will not be equal. Bias, misinformation and the environmental cost of AI deserve attention too. A faster way of working is not a better one if people carry the cost without sharing the benefit.

Our position is to use AI to support people, not treat them as replaceable. That means making room for learning, keeping human judgment in the process and asking who benefits from each change. We cannot determine the future of AI alone. We can be deliberate about the part we play.

Our role

More than an answer. A stronger starting point.

Running a business is not just about finding answers quickly. It is about understanding your situation, making choices and learning from what happens next. AI is useful when it helps you do that, not when it simply sounds confident.

In Bussco, ALEX helps you make sense of your saved business information. Lyra helps turn your direction into draft campaign content. Neither knows your business better than the people building it. You bring the context and review the work; the tools help you connect the pieces.

Human responsibility

A suggestion is not a decision.

AI can miss context, reflect bias or get things wrong, even when an answer reads well. Check important claims, review sources where available and ask what might be missing. Your team's approval means you chose to use something; it does not turn it into an independently verified fact.

Generated work is there for you to review and shape. Suggested changes to accepted Business Brain information require human acceptance within the team's permissions. For legal, financial or other high-stakes decisions, involve a qualified professional rather than relying on an AI answer alone.

Your privacy

Your business context deserves care.

What you share with Bussco helps the tools work with your business, rather than give generic advice. Workspace information is kept within business-specific access boundaries. Being a member of one business does not give someone access to another.

Relevant information is sent through a secure cloud gateway to AI providers when you use AI features. Authorized Bussco administrators can access information for platform support, and assigned consultants work within their permitted scope. We do not describe this as a space that nobody outside your team can ever access.

Share what is useful, not passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal information. Our Privacy and Security pages explain processing, access and data controls in more detail. We do not make a blanket promise of zero retention or no training by every AI provider.

Learning responsibly

Improve the product. Respect the business.

We want to understand where people get stuck and what makes Bussco useful. Feedback about a confusing step or a missing feature can help us improve the experience. That is different from using the substance of a business's private strategy for research or model training.

If we introduce research, industry benchmarks or model training using contributed business information, we will ask for separate, voluntary permission with a clear purpose. Using Workspace would not, by itself, be agreement to participate. Those programs are not currently available.

Any future shared findings should describe patterns, not expose an individual business. Removing a name alone is not enough: small groups and distinctive details can still identify someone. Those safeguards need to be in place before a program starts, not added after information has been shared.

An ongoing commitment

Keep asking better questions.

Responsible AI is not a badge we earn once. As the technology and our product change, we need to keep reviewing the risks, listening to the people using Bussco and being honest about the limits. The standard we want to hold ourselves to is simple: does this help people do better work, with understanding and agency?

Trust is a conversation.

Have a question or a concern about how we use AI? We want to hear it.
