Platform guide

Workspace by Bussco

Understand your business. Remember your decisions. Build on what you learn.

Disconnected documents lose the why. Generic AI starts over. Workspace connects your context, reasoning and work. ALEX is the business brain inside it, helping you think through the next step while you stay in control.

No account needed for the demo. Real strategic tools require active access.

Business owners reviewing plans together

From context to action

A connected system, not a collection of prompts.

Business Brain

Stop explaining the same business twice.

Keep business context, customers, offers, positioning and brand voice together. See where information came from, bring your existing work and explicitly accept what belongs in your shared knowledge.

Connected strategy tools

Each step starts from the last, not from zero.

Bussco's proprietary tools connect ideal customer profiles, Buyer Intelligence, personas, offers, positioning and campaign strategy. Review prior work, explore alternatives and choose what to carry forward.

Monday Briefing & ALEX

Know which questions deserve your attention.

Review open questions, company updates, evidence gaps and recent decisions. Save an answer, assign a question or request help thinking it through. Scheduled Monday checks run around 8:30 a.m. in the business time zone; the shared weekly text is prepared when opened. Listen to the synthesis or revisit saved editions in Previous briefings. ALEX synthesizes context; you decide what to do.

Campaigns & Lyra

Keep execution connected to its strategy.

Develop campaign plans and text content with Lyra, organize buyer journey stages and next steps, and record performance observations. Results become evidence to revisit assumptions, not automatic changes to strategy.

Evidence, decisions & saved work

Remember the reasoning, not just the result.

Link evidence to what it supports or challenges. Record decisions and dependencies, edit results while preserving originals and attribution, and reuse the active version in your next step.

Teamwork & human support

The right people, with the right authority.

Invite your team with defined roles, assign actions and designate deliverable approvers. Request a Bussco Strategist for recurring support, or work with Bussco on a separately scoped consulting engagement.

Start with an idea, MVP or established business

Build useful context with ALEX, without pretending every answer is already known.

This is Workspace setup, not a replacement for a separately scoped consulting intake. Missing knowledge remains a gap; chatting alone does not confirm it.

Understand customers and buying groups

Five focused views connect customer strategy with real feedback and CRM records.

CRM alignment is reviewed, not guessed. Closed-won deals do not by themselves prove a current customer contract; unlinked records remain unknown.

Separate products, offers, versions and prices

Keep delivery, packaging and commercial terms distinct.

Approved pricing has dates and history. Tag ICP on a price to say which segments it is for (no tag means all segments); tags are chosen by people, never inferred. The Commercial Cockpit labels CRM-wide figures; it does not invent revenue attribution to offers.

Choose KPIs, targets and historical charts

Track the measures that matter with the sources you actually have.

Active businesses get scheduled Sunday-night samples in their business time zone before Monday review. History starts with recorded samples, not invented past values. Missing or disconnected sources remain unknown, not zero.

Generate and export strategic documents

Turn recorded knowledge into reviewable business documents in English or Spanish.

Refresh from Brain is explicit, not automatic. Originals and source snapshots remain available. Document edits never change the Brain; a pitch narrative is not a designed slide deck, and a scope outline is not a signed contract. Generation needs existing strategic-tool access.

Read connected marketing, booking and revenue data

Use authorized account reporting without confusing it with confirmed business facts.

Metrics depend on provider permissions, fields and reporting windows. No ad writing, automatic publishing or inferred consent. Threads and attribution remain inactive without verified authorization. Fresha does not infer client identities or revenue from booking counts.

Your first steps

Start small. Keep the thread.

  1. 01

    Explore without committing

Try the free public demo with your business details. Accept an example suggestion, answer a sample briefing question and draft a campaign next step. Everything stays in your browser.

  2. 02

Create your account, then activate access

Account creation is free. The Owner subscribes on the Access page or redeems a promo code issued by Bussco. There is no automatic free trial or free first tool run.

  3. 03

    Build context at your pace

Talk with ALEX by text or voice, review proposed answers individually, or use the quick form. Bring existing knowledge and connect a saved Business Checkup. A skippable click-through tour introduces the Workspace, and you can replay it from your account.

  4. 04

    Review, decide, execute, learn

Choose a question or tool, review its proposals and explicitly accept what you want to use. Build campaigns from that strategy and bring results back as evidence. Your next decision starts with what you learned.

How-to guides

From your first question to your next decision.

Start with an idea, MVP or established business

Build useful context with ALEX, without pretending every answer is already known.

  1. Open Getting started and save the required business basics. Choose the ALEX conversation or the quick form.
  2. Type an answer, record your voice or add a relevant document. ALEX asks focused questions and proposes answers for review.
  3. Edit and explicitly save or skip each proposed answer. Idea and pre-revenue businesses can follow the From idea to first customers checklist on Overview.

This is Workspace setup, not a replacement for a separately scoped consulting intake. Missing knowledge remains a gap; chatting alone does not confirm it.

Understand customers and buying groups

Five focused views connect customer strategy with real feedback and CRM records.

  1. Open Business Brain → Customers. In Ideal Customer Profiles, review segments, firmographics and green/red flags.
  2. Use Buying Groups & Committees for buyer roles and personas; Customer Journey for awareness, decision and onboarding touchpoints.
  3. Record real quotes, interviews, objections and win/loss evidence in Voice of Customer. In CRM Alignment, select the CRM and review explicit deal-to-ICP links.

CRM alignment is reviewed, not guessed. Closed-won deals do not by themselves prove a current customer contract; unlinked records remain unknown.

Separate products, offers, versions and prices

Keep delivery, packaging and commercial terms distinct.

  1. Record the product or service under Offers → Products & Services: what it does, its availability, limits and dependencies.
  2. Use Catalog for the customer-facing package and Bundled Deliverables to link what it includes. Value & Objections explains the promise and supporting proof.
  3. Use Pricing for multiple arrangements, such as monthly and annual terms. Example: one software product, a team offer and two payment options. Record a materially different product version distinctly and link it explicitly; a price change alone is not a new product.

  1. Open Business Brain → Health & metrics → KPIs & Metrics and choose Add from catalog.
  2. Choose an available profile, business-record or connected-service metric. Customize its target, cadence and settings, then arrange trackers in your preferred order.
  3. Review readings and historical charts with their source and date. For OKRs, link measures to existing Quarterly Bets rather than creating a second goal system.

  1. Open Documents & Assets → Generate document. Choose Executive, Investor & funding, Commercial & sales, Marketing & go-to-market, or Operations & team alignment.
  2. Choose Start this document and review What ALEX will use. Select English or Spanish, then Generate draft. Templates include business plans, SWOT, Lean Canvas, investment memos, pitch narratives, sales sheets, scripts and team briefs.
  3. Review sections, sources and To confirm gaps. Edit and save a new version; export PDF, Markdown or copy. Include cited work in export is optional and off by default.

Refresh from Brain is explicit, not automatic. Originals and source snapshots remain available. Document edits never change the Brain; a pitch narrative is not a designed slide deck, and a scope outline is not a signed contract. Generation needs existing strategic-tool access.

Use your CRM and Sales desk

Connect pipeline conversations to the customers and offers behind them.

  1. Open Sales desk and choose the built-in CRM or a configured connected CRM as your source.
  2. Review contacts, open deals and pipeline information. Use recorded customer profiles, buying roles and approved pricing to prepare calls.
  3. Record outcomes and review deal-to-ICP alignment in Customers. Use Documents to prepare discovery scripts, objection playbooks and customer-facing sales sheets.

A connected CRM snapshot is not continuous two-way synchronization. Provider access and selected source control what is visible; pipeline totals are not offer-specific revenue.

Read connected marketing, booking and revenue data

Use authorized account reporting without confusing it with confirmed business facts.

  1. An Owner or Admin connects this business’s own account in Settings → Connections and checks the selected account and permissions.
  2. Use supported Meta reporting for Instagram metrics and read-only ad reports. Review Facebook feedback before saving evidence and Lead Ads records before importing eligible contacts into the selected built-in CRM.
  3. Fresha reporting appears only with a usable Data Connector. Add supported booking measures from the KPI catalog. Connect your business’s own Paddle account to track supported revenue measures; it is separate from paying for Bussco.

Metrics depend on provider permissions, fields and reporting windows. No ad writing, automatic publishing or inferred consent. Threads and attribution remain inactive without verified authorization. Fresha does not infer client identities or revenue from booking counts.

Review finance and experiments

Separate approved numbers from assumptions and test results.

  1. Open Health & metrics → Finance to review recorded financial assumptions, scenarios and approved records. Add actual figures with their source and period rather than relying on example assumptions.
  2. Use the Finance Lab for scenario work, and R&D for hypotheses, owners, dates, status and observed results.
  3. Review finance and experiment context in ALEX and your briefing; link measures to existing bets when evaluating priorities.

Scenarios are not forecasts, accounting or bank reconciliation. An empty or unapproved record is not a verified financial result.

Coordinate operations and client delivery

Keep responsibilities, deadlines and handoffs visible.

  1. Open Operations desk to review recorded work, overdue actions and capacity context.
  2. Use product/service limits and the recorded org chart to clarify responsibilities before a handoff.
  3. For a separately scoped Bussco engagement, use Projects, client actions, Messages & files and designated deliverable approvals.

Delivery access follows the active engagement and assignments; platform support is not consulting delivery authority. A company org chart does not grant Workspace permissions.

Plan, review and learn from marketing

Keep text production and reporting tied to your chosen audience.

  1. Open Marketing desk and review recorded campaigns and content context. Build campaign plans from the chosen customer, offer and positioning.
  2. Use Lyra for text drafts, video scripts and storyboards, and visual/graphic briefs; Repurpose turns one piece into new formats. Check brand voice and editorial flags before using a draft.
  3. Publish through your own channels and record performance evidence. Add supported connected marketing KPIs to track dated readings and historical charts.

Workspace plans visuals and video but does not render, edit or automatically publish them. Connected account totals do not prove campaign-specific attribution.

Make Overview yours

Your focus, updates and business knowledge, organized around your day.

  1. Open Overview. Your focus brings together the next step, Briefing and strategy roadmap.
  2. Use Updates & check-in to record changes. Business knowledge shows coverage and what needs confirmation.
  3. Choose Customize to show or hide panels and move them within their group. Add internal shortcuts from the side menu.

Your panel preferences belong to you and this business. You can collapse or hide From your intake; it also lives in Business Brain → Profile.

Ask ALEX about your business

Answers grounded in your recorded business, with sources you can check.

  1. Under Today, open Chat with ALEX and start a New conversation.
  2. Ask about recorded customers, offers, decisions, evidence or saved work. Read the sources under Based on.
  3. Return to a saved conversation or delete it when you no longer need it. Add missing context in the Brain or Company updates, not by assuming the chat saved it.

Your own conversations are private unless you explicitly share them; permitted teammates can read shared conversations. ALEX does not browse the web, answer unrelated questions or change business records through chat.

Listen to your Briefing

Take ALEX's reading with you, in English or Spanish.

  1. Open your briefing from Orient. On your review day, opening the Workspace prepares the current ALEX edition; on other days choose Summarize with ALEX. Check the Edition of heading.
  2. Once the reading appears, choose Listen and wait for the audio to prepare.
  3. Use the audio player's play, pause and progress controls, or Download audio to keep a WAV copy.

This reads ALEX's synthesis, not every Briefing row. Playback and lock-screen information depend on your browser and device. There are no custom speed or 15-second skip controls.

Turn a voice memo into reviewed evidence

Capture a meeting debrief without treating every spoken idea as fact.

  1. Open Today → Company updates & voice memos. In Record a voice memo, choose Record and allow microphone access, or Upload audio.
  2. Choose Stop and process. Uploaded audio starts processing when selected. Open Transcript and check ALEX's Suggested items on the page.
  3. Edit summaries and details, uncheck anything you do not want, then Save selected. You can instead Save transcript as an update or Discard.

Audio must be under 20 MB. Saved suggestions are evidence, not confirmed facts or formal decision records. Review meeting consent and sensitive information before uploading.

Record products, services and pricing

Keep what you deliver and what customers pay accurate, with approvals and history.

  1. Open Business Brain → Offers → Products & Services. Add a name; lifecycle, availability, features, deliverables, limitations and dependencies are optional.
  2. In Offers, use Includes to connect an offer to the products or services it packages, then choose Propose pricing. An offer can have several options at once.
  3. An Owner or Admin approves, rejects, pauses or retires pricing. To change approved pricing, choose Propose a replacement; the old version stays in History.

Contributors and assigned Bussco consultants can propose pricing but not approve it. ALEX treats only approved pricing in effect today as current pricing.

Connect your own service account

Bring selected summaries into the context ALEX can read.

  1. Open Settings → Connections. An Owner or Admin chooses Connect for a configured service.
  2. Sign in to your own service account and approve the requested access. Support a listed coming-soon integration or suggest a missing service to help prioritize future connections. Check you selected the right account or business before continuing.
  3. Choose Bring in a summary, review the items, tick what to keep and Save selected. Saved items go to Company Updates as evidence for ALEX.

The connection directory includes HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Stripe, Shopify, Mailchimp, Notion, Google Search Console, LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Fresha, Wix, ClickUp, monday.com and ZoomInfo. Some connect by signing in, others with a key or token you create in that service, using the built-in guide and connection test. Zapier can send items into a review queue. Coming soon means setup is not complete. LinkedIn currently supplies basic profile information. Reconnect renews access; disconnecting does not delete previously saved updates. Reviewed evidence imports, selected CRM snapshots and scheduled KPI readings are separate workflows. No automatic continuous sync across all services or People Data Labs connection is included.

Share messages and files with Bussco

Keep client conversations and shared documents alongside the work.

  1. Under Command desks → Operations & delivery, open Messages & files to see your business's conversation with the Bussco team.
  2. Write a message and choose Send. Return here for replies; the menu badge shows unread messages.
  3. Under Shared files, choose Upload a file (up to 25 MB). Open a listed file to view or download it.

These are business-shared conversations, not private direct messages. Uploading a file does not automatically extract its contents or confirm facts in the Brain. Consulting support is scoped separately; do not rely on email notifications alone.

Find previous weekly Briefings

Return to a saved edition instead of losing last week's perspective.

  1. Open Orient → Previous briefings, or follow the link inside your briefing.
  2. Choose a saved edition to read its ALEX synthesis and recorded snapshot.
  3. Compare that edition with today's updates before making a new decision.

Every Monday around 8:30 a.m. in your business's time zone (set by an Owner or Admin in Settings → Profile), ALEX runs the strategic drift check and the team gets an alert and email that the Briefing is ready. The Briefing text is written the first time someone opens it that week. If nobody opens Workspace for 3 weeks, the weekly check pauses and the team gets an occasional reminder instead. History starts with saved editions, not reconstructed older weeks. Admin-side client Briefings are not added to client history.

Define your content pillars

Give marketing a shared set of themes grounded in the business.

  1. Open Business Brain → Identity, below Brand Voice.
  2. An Owner or Admin can add up to eight pillars: name, purpose, topics or examples, audience and an optional percentage.
  3. Save the pillars before generating campaign text with Lyra or using Repurpose. Review the result against your voice, audience and evidence.

Pillars guide generation; they do not schedule posts, guarantee a content mix or automatically publish. Editing is limited by your team role.

Organize Documents & Assets

Keep business files in a dedicated shared library.

  1. Open Documents & Assets and upload a file up to 50 MB.
  2. Add a useful name and description so teammates can find it.
  3. Open or download a listed file. Your role and the file sharing settings determine what you can open or manage.

Uploading stores a file; it does not automatically read its contents into ALEX or confirm Brain facts. Documents are private by default. Use the explicit Let Alex read this file control when you want supported document content included in ALEX context; consultant access needs separate authorization. Messages & files is a separate Bussco conversation with a 25 MB upload limit.

Explore Strategic Intelligence

Test possibilities before treating them as business facts.

  1. Open Strategy → Strategic intelligence and choose What-if, Competitors, Market trends or Repurpose.
  2. Give the analysis a specific question or source text; check assumptions and missing evidence in the result.
  3. Use Website scan for suggested website context, or review a proposed Brain update before an authorized approval.

Scenarios and signals are analysis, not verified market data or forecasts. Website suggestions and Brain proposals require review; ALEX chat itself does not edit records. Repurpose produces text, not image or video assets.

Run quarterly and annual reviews

Look back at recorded work and agree on what comes next.

  1. Open Command desks → Executive → Quarterly & annual reviews and select a quarterly or annual period.
  2. Ask ALEX for a draft based on period records, then review and edit the findings and priorities.
  3. An Owner or Admin completes the review. Read the completed version when planning the next period.

Completed reviews are locked. Missing records remain gaps, not invented results. Period review reminders are checked when Workspace opens.

Export an executive one-pager

Prepare a concise business brief for a meeting or stakeholder.

  1. Open Command desks → Executive → Executive one-pager and review the business information included.
  2. Add your business logo and edit the text for this export.
  3. Choose print and use your browser's Save as PDF option.

Export edits do not change the Business Brain. This is a one-pager, not an editable slide-deck export; check sensitive information before sharing.

Find a page and catch up with your team

Move straight to the work and review recent changes.

  1. Open Workspace search or press Cmd/Ctrl+K and type the page or action you need.
  2. Check Team activity on Overview for presence and recent changes since your last visit.
  3. Open the relevant record to understand the context before acting.

Presence depends on active sessions. Catch-up uses this browser's last visit; it is not a complete audit log. Search finds registered pages and actions, not the full contents of every file. Search also opens Brain areas, intelligence options and account settings directly.

Check a draft against your brand voice

Catch tone problems before something is published.

  1. Open Command desks → Marketing desk and find Brand voice check.
  2. Paste a draft in English or Spanish and run the check.
  3. Read the voice-fit score, best-matching content pillar and each flag with its suggested rewrite, then edit your draft.

Works best once Brand Voice and content pillars are saved in the Business Brain. Owners, Admins and Contributors can run it. It never changes the Brain or publishes anything.

Review strategic drift and quarterly bets

See whether campaigns and deals still support your priorities.

  1. Set up to five active quarterly bets in Command desks → Executive.
  2. On your review day, open Overview → your briefing and read the Strategic drift card.
  3. Review flagged campaigns or deals and bets nothing supports. Choose Check again after updating your records.

The check runs automatically on Mondays for active businesses and compares campaigns and open deals with your ideal customers and bets. It is analysis to discuss, not an automatic change to plans or the Brain.

Install Bussco and enable notifications

Open Workspace from your home screen and opt into supported alerts.

  1. On iPhone, use Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Chrome's Install or Add to Home screen option.
  2. Open Settings → Phone and desktop alerts on the device you want to notify and allow notifications when prompted.
  3. Return to Settings to disable notifications on that device.

Internet is required; offline work is not included. iPhone push needs iOS 16.4 or newer and the installed home-screen app. Browser and device support varies. Messages from Bussco and completed reviews can trigger alerts; your briefing alert is sent on your business's own schedule; each person can turn off its email in Settings → Profile. Period reminders are checked when Workspace opens.

See every post, Reel and Story you published

Real Instagram and Facebook publications, per-post results and the calendar in one place.

  1. Connect Meta in Settings → Connections and authorize your Instagram professional account and Facebook Page.
  2. Open Marketing desk → Published content. Choose 7, 30 or 90 days or exact dates; everything published in that window appears, not a sample. Filter by format (Reel, Story, carousel, image, video) or network and sort by reach, views, saves or engagement.
  3. Choose Full breakdown on a card for every metric Meta provides. Published items also appear in green in the editorial calendar, in Recent publications and in your briefing.

Read-only: Workspace never posts or edits. Stories are available from Meta only while active (24 hours), so older Stories may be missing. Metrics Meta doesn't provide show as “—”, never zero, and reach is never summed across posts. One read covers up to 200 publications and 93 days.

Scan your website without noisy suggestions

Get proposals only when your website says something substantively different from your Business Brain.

  1. Open My Business and choose Scan website. Enter your public website address.
  2. ALEX compares what the site says with your saved answers. Rewording, reordering or summarizing the same idea is listed under Already in your Brain.
  3. Review New and changed answers: only new or removed offerings, audiences, markets, channels, competitors, calls to action or claims. Edit and accept each one you agree with.

Nothing is saved until you accept it. Empty saved answers are always offered so gaps can be filled.

Plan videos, storyboards and visual briefs with Lyra

Turn campaign strategy into shootable scripts and designer-ready briefs.

  1. Open a campaign and choose New content. Pick Video script & storyboard or Visual / graphic brief.
  2. Choose the format (Reel, Story, horizontal or square video; carousel, single image, story frames, ad or covers), length and goal.
  3. Review the hook, script, scene-by-scene storyboard, music direction, art direction and optional image prompts. Edit, mark Ready and schedule it in the Marketing calendar; share the brief with your editor, designer or Canva.

Lyra plans; it does not render, edit or publish video or images. It never invents testimonials, statistics or copyrighted music.

Before you begin

Your questions, answered.

Ask the Bussco team→
Is there a free trial?

No automatic trial is included. Creating an account, the public demo and the Business Checkup are free. Strategic tools require a paid subscription or a valid Bussco-issued promo code. Research access is limited and invitation-based, not an ongoing free plan.

What can I actually do in the demo?

Enter business details, explore four areas, accept an illustrative positioning suggestion, save a sample briefing answer and draft a campaign next step. These are illustrative examples, not live AI analysis or actual sales data. Drafts stay in this browser; only your business name can prefill setup. Demo outputs do not transfer into your account.

What does the subscription include?

Workspace by Bussco is $249.99/month or $2,499.99/year upfront, including one Owner seat and the core strategic tools. Connection availability depends on setup and provider permissions; consulting is separate. Prices exclude applicable taxes, added at checkout. Additional Strategic/Admin seats are $49.99/month, Contributors $19.99/month and Viewers/Approvers are free within a business with active access. There are no artificially restricted Starter or Pro tiers.

Is this another AI chat tool?

Bussco connects business context, strategic work, evidence and decisions. AI helps propose and synthesize; people accept, edit or reject. Proposals do not become accepted business knowledge automatically, and original work and reasoning remain traceable.

Do I need to start from scratch?

No. Add existing customers, offers and positioning, review saved work before generating new options and confirm the fields you want from a saved Checkup. Setup is progressive; you do not need to complete everything before taking a useful first step.

Does it publish campaigns or connect my CRM automatically?

The Workspace supports campaign plans, Lyra text content and recorded performance evidence. Configured Connections can bring in summaries from your own service accounts for review and selective saving. Use the built-in CRM or a selected connected snapshot separately from reviewed evidence imports and scheduled KPI readings. No blanket continuous two-way CRM sync or automatic campaign publishing is included. Image/video generation and editing are not included.

Is a consultant included?

No. The Workspace is the system you use yourself. Add a Bussco Strategist is optional, with scope and pricing agreed after a consultant reviews your request. Strategy Intensive, Bussco Build and Strategic Advisory are distinct consulting engagements.

Who can see and change my business information?

Businesses are isolated and access follows defined roles. Your invited team sees permitted information; authorized Bussco staff may access it for support or assigned consulting work. Viewers cannot freely edit or run tools. Deliverable sign-off requires specific designation, except for Owners and Strategic/Admins with broader authority.

What happens if I cancel or change my subscription?

Only the Owner manages billing. Cancel from the billing portal and tool access remains until the paid period ends. Plan and paid-seat changes apply immediately with proration. Seats cannot be reduced below current team commitments. Business deletion is blocked while subscribed.

How does the Founding Research Cohort work?

Selected businesses receive defined research access through Bussco, with an onboarding interview, two or three feedback sessions and a final interview. Approved participants who continue can receive $199/month or $1,999 for their first annual term, limited to the first 12 paid months. Standard pricing applies afterward. Applying does not grant access automatically.

Make the next decision with context

Try the experience. Then make it yours.

Account creation is free. The full Workspace is $249.99/month or $2,499.99/year. Prices exclude applicable taxes, added at checkout. No automatic free period; Bussco-issued promo codes provide limited access when offered.
